Journey Overview

Day 1 : Windhoek To Sossusvlei
On arrival in Windhoek, you will be collected from the airport (arrive before 08 00) or your hotel in Windhoek. Meet your guide and begin your journey southwest through the scenic Khomas Hochland highlands and further on to the Namib Desert. Stop for a picnic lunch on the way to your lodge. Your afternoon excursion includes a visit to Sesriem Canyon. Overnight in Sossusvlei.

Day 2: Sossusvlei
After an early breakfast, explore Sossusvlei, Deadvlei and surrounding dune fields. This area boasts some of the highest free-standing sand dunes in the world and your guide will give you an insight on the formation of the Namib Desert and its myriad of fascinating creatures and plants that have adapted to survive these harsh environs. Alternatively you can sign up for another excursion offered such as a Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Safari or scenic helicopter filght (additional cost). Overnight in Sossusvlei.

Day 3 : Sossusvlei To Swakopmund
After breakfast, drive northwest through awesome and ever changing desert landscapes of the Namib Naukluft National Park, including the impressive Gaub and Kuiseb canyons. You will meet the coast at the port town of Walvis Bay and then continue north to Swakopmund where you can enjoy the pleasant seaside location and cooler coastal air for your next two nights. There will be time this afternoon to explore the town and wander along the waterfront on foot, before heading off for dinner at a popular restaurant which specializes in locally harvested seafood. Overnight in Swakopmund.

Day 4 : Swakopmund
Day 4 : Swakopmund
After breakfast, you will head to Walvis bay for your excursion; kayak or board a catamaran within the outer lagoon. This is an ideal way of seeing Cape fur seals, Heaviside and bottlenose dolphins, pelicans, flamingos and a wide variety of other sea birds. If you are lucky, there is also a chance of seeing whales, leatherback turtles and sunfish. Overnight in Swakopmund.

Day 5 : Swakopmund To Damaraland
Drive to Damaraland; on route you will see Namibia’s highest mountain, the Brandberg which peaks at 2,573 meters above sea level. Damaraland is typified by displays of color, magnificent table topped mountains, rock formations and bizarre-looking vegetation. If time allows your guide will take you to visit the nearby attractions and geological sites of the pre-historic Twyfelfontein rock engravings. Overnight in Damaraland.

Day 6 : Damaraland
After an early breakfast head out on a game drive. Damaraland is home to a variety of desert adapted wildlife and hidden desert treasures. As the elephants are mostly active in the mornings you will normally have the best chance to see them then before returning to camp for lunch. Overnight in Damaraland.
